Contrary to the majority, I think the towers are essential to improve the image if CJ and the third world class train station. Try to get to the new lifts with a wheelchair, or luggage, or use the toilets and what about when is raining ?
It is a pity that the private sector has to come up with the cash, and the residential element will pay for the improvement and create much needed jobs.
I would prefer a better design for the towers, and i hope CABE views are taken into consideration for a new improved design. Battersea needs better transport link for the benefit of the whole borough and if you are concerned about the scale of the proposed towers the landscape is already compromised by the existing concrete monstrosity.

erman: “if you are concerned about the scale of the proposed towers the landscape is already compromised by the existing concrete monstrosity”> Does it mean, as mistakes have been made in the past, we should keep going with monstrosities and try to replicate Croydon or clusters of tower blocks in city areas? I must disagree strongly with your comment, and I think that actually there is no fatality…

erman: I suggest you actually read all the documentation then make comment. The actual proposed improvements to the station do not go far enough and will create more congestion in the area. The shopping center will further damage local and independent businesses and increase the car traffic in the area. Your point on, there are some tower blocks therefore it won’t harm the image of CJ…..the proposed tower blocks are 42 stories! yes 42. that is over 3 x the height of any other block in the area. How on earth is that going to make CJ a better place to live? unless of course you don’t live in CJ……….?
